Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Policy

Introduction

Roentgen Technical Inspection Pvt Ltd is committed to providing safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible rental services for induction heating equipment, including the Miller ProHeat 35, used primarily for Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) in thermal power plants, refineries, and cross-country pipelines. Our operations involve high-temperature processes, electrical systems, and fieldwork in hazardous environments, making HSE our top priority.

This HSE Policy outlines our dedication to protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, clients, and the public, while minimizing environmental impact. It aligns with international standards such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and relevant Indian regulations including the Factories Act, 1948; Petroleum Act, 1934; and guidelines from the Directorate General of Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI).

Our HSE Commitments

We pledge to:

  • Prevent Accidents and Ill-Health: Achieve zero incidents through proactive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation in all PWHT and equipment handling activities.

  • Ensure Legal Compliance: Adhere to all applicable HSE laws, regulations, and client-specific requirements in the energy and industrial sectors.

  • Promote a Safety Culture: Foster a "Safety First" mindset where every employee and contractor feels empowered to stop unsafe work and report hazards.

  • Protect the Environment: Minimize waste, emissions, and resource consumption during equipment operations, transport, and maintenance, targeting zero spills or pollution incidents.

  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and enhance our HSE performance through audits, training, and feedback mechanisms.

Key HSE Principles and Practices

Health Management

  • Conduct pre-employment and periodic medical examinations for all field personnel exposed to heat stress, noise, or chemical hazards.

  • Provide access to health surveillance programs, including monitoring for occupational illnesses related to welding fumes or high-temperature exposure.

  • Promote wellness initiatives, such as hydration protocols during PWHT operations in hot environments.

Safety Management

  • Risk Assessment: Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification (HAZID) for every project, focusing on electrical hazards, burns, confined spaces, and lifting operations.

  • Training and Competency: Deliver mandatory HSE induction, equipment-specific training (e.g., safe operation of induction heating machines), and refresher courses annually. All personnel must hold valid certifications (e.g., NDT Level II for relevant staff).

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Supply and enforce use of flame-retardant clothing, heat-resistant gloves, face shields, insulated tools, and fall protection gear.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Maintain site-specific Emergency Response Plans (ERP) with drills for fire, electrical shock, or equipment failure. Equip all sites with first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and spill response materials.

  • Incident Reporting: Encourage near-miss and incident reporting via a confidential system, with root-cause analysis and corrective actions implemented within 48 hours.

Monitoring and Review

  • Conduct internal HSE audits bi-annually and third-party certifications annually.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR < 0.5), environmental incidents (zero tolerance), and training completion (100%).

  • This policy will be reviewed annually or after significant incidents/changes, with updates communicated to all stakeholders.

Environmental Management

  • Waste Management: Segregate and dispose of hazardous waste (e.g., oils, filters from equipment maintenance) through certified recyclers, complying with Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.

  • Emission Control: Use low-emission generators and monitor air quality during PWHT to prevent excessive fumes; promote energy-efficient practices.

  • Resource Conservation: Optimize fuel use in transport and operations to reduce carbon footprint; aim for 10% annual reduction in non-essential travel.

  • Biodiversity Protection: Avoid operations in ecologically sensitive areas and conduct environmental impact assessments for pipeline projects.
